Smart cities are heavily reliant on information technology to provide essential services to residents, and also benefit businesses as well as the government.

Today, smart cities are using resources such as IoT and digital technology to deliver better quality of life, make urban spaces more efficient, convenient, safer and liveable.

IoT, which makes up the very core of a smart city, use technologies to improve the lives of its citizens and the environment.

IoT presents an opportunity to reshape delivery and foster an efficient management of physical infrastructure assets. With a multitude of devices getting internet-enabled and accessible, IoT offers unprecedented potential to remotely monitor control infrastructure and analytics.

The smart city concept is still evolving in India but it shows a lot of promise.
