- The smallest 1-digit number is 1 and the largest 1-digit number is 9.
- When you add 1 to 9, you get the smallest 2-digit number 9 + 1 = 10.
- The largest 2-digit number is 99. Adding 1 to 99 gives the smallest 3-digit number 99 + 1 = 100.
- The largest 3-digital number is 999. Adding 1 to 999 gives the smallest 4-digit number 999 + 1 = 1000.
